“Nicolae Golescu” Educational and Vocational Training Center for Police Agents Slatina has its headquarters in the barracks of the former Regiment 3 Dorobanþi Olt, on the plateau near the river Olt.

This institution was set up on the 1st of May 1974 by Order of the Minister of Interior No.04214, as Military Training School for Non-Commissioned Militia Officers, Slatina.

Throughout the years, the Center has undergone many transformations resulting in the development and modernization of the educational, logistic and organizational activity.

 

 

Chronological guide marks

 

The Center came into being on 1st December 1999 by Order of the Minister of Interior No. I/01056. After 1990, the Institution is named “Military Training School for Police Non-Commissioned Officers” Slatina.
On 1st April 1994, by Order of the Minister of Interior No.II/01562, on the occasion of reaching 20 years of existence, the Center is given the name “Nicolae Golescu”, thus becoming “Nicolae Golescu Military School for Police Non-Commissioned Officers” Slatina.

On 1st August 1996, by Order of the Minister of Interior, it is given the name of “Nicolae Golescu” Educational and Vocational Training Center for the Personnel of the Ministry of Interior Slatina.

Starting with 1st September 1997, by Order of the Minister of Interior No. I/07241, the educational institution is reorganized again, part of the Center’s patrimony passing within the administration of the County Gendarmerie Commandment Olt- which functions in the same barracks.

By Order of the Minister of Interior No. I/01050/1999, starting with 1.12.1999, the Center belongs to the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police.

The heraldic marks of this educational institution contain the motto: “SEMPER DISCAMUS” – learn forever.

 

 

Pedagogical dimensions and perspectives

 

Pursuant to its own Regulations on the organization and functioning, the Center is an educational institution directly subordinated to the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police, with main tasks in educating and professionally training police agents.

All profiles of students are instructed and educated to immediately serve the citizen and the interests of the local community. What is especially targeted is the creation of a mentality in keeping with the European values which lay emphasis on competence and morality, as well as respect for the fundamental rights and liberties of the individual.

 

Educational Offer

 

At present, the Center organizes and carries out the following categories of activities with didactic character:

  • Career initiation for police agents;

  • Professional development for profiles of public order, organized crime, criminal prosecution, judiciary police, dispatch units etc.

  • Initial training and development in the field of foreign languages for the police agents and police officers;

  • Specialization of the police agents in the domains of public order, organized crime, criminal prosecution etc.

  • Capacity courses for the rank of chief agent;

  • Courses to change the work profile.

 

Collaboration

 

  • Direct contacts with the Police School from HAHN - GERMANIA.

  • Experience exchanges with representatives of police institutions from USA, France, Greece, Republic of Moldova, Germany, and England.

  • Participation in international seminars and training courses for trainers in Switzerland, Germany, France.

The 30 years of existence celebrated by the Center on 1st May 2004, are witness to remarkable progress and significant evolutions in the organization and development of the educational process, responding to the social demands as requested by the Ministry of Administration and Interior.
